Mohsina Kidwai (born 1 January 1932) is an Indian politician and former union minister and parliamentarian from the Indian National Congress party belonging from the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh. She served as a union minister under Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi holding several important portfolios.

She was elected to the 6th Lok Sabha from the Meerut constituency of Uttar Pradesh and retained the seat in the 7th and 8th Lok Sabha. She also served as a member of the Rajya Sabha from Chhattisgarh[1],[2] between 2004 and 2016.

Career

Mohsina Kidwai has held several ministerial offices in Government of Uttar Pradesh and Government of India.[2]

Kidwai has held a variety of leadership positions within the Congress party including General Secretary of AICC. Kidwai is known for her proximity to Congress Party Chief, Sonia Gandhi.[3]

She has also been a member of Congress Working Committee and convenor of Manifesto Implementation Committees of Assamese and Punjab.[4]

Personal life

Mohsina Kidwai was married on 17 December 1953 to Khalil R. Kidwai. She has three daughters.[2]
