Purpose of use |
To give a visual example of the kind of situations and presentation that was typical of pre-Production Code films in Hollywood. Situations such as this, a man about to kiss a woman who is in bed in her nightgown, were one of the things the Production Code took aim at. After 1934, a scene such as this would not be seen in a Hollywood film for decades. Such situations were one of the primary concerns which led to the promulgation of the Code. |
