Roger Spitz (born in Johannesburg, South Africa) is an author and former investment banker. Spitz led the mergers and acquisitions at BNP Paribas investment bank in London until 2016. In this role, he expanded the bank’s European technology digital corporate finance advisory franchises. In 2017, Spitz was appointed to establish the practice of BNP Paribas in San Francisco. Innovations developed by Spitz are referenced by organizations such as the Association of Professional Futurists, Gartner, IBM Center for the Business of Government, IBGC - Instituto Brasileiro de Governança Corporativa, Institute of Directors (India), MIT, and the World Economic Forum.

Roger Spitz is the author of several books, including the four-volume collection The Definitive Guide to Thriving on Disruption, 23 which explores understanding change, uncertainty, and decision-making in complex, unpredictable environments. Cathy Hackl, in the foreword to The Definitive Guide to Thriving on Disruption, writes: “Roger created an operating manual, a system of content to build fluency in the language of uncertainty, disruption, and unpredictability.”
Advocacy
Spitz advocates for educational reforms to prepare individuals for decision-making in this complex technological age. 40 41 42 43 44 Active in education with the Disruptive Futures Institute, he also sits on the board of Teach The Future (founded by Dr. Peter C. Bishop) and has testified as an expert before the Brazilian government’s Chamber of Deputies’ commission on education.
