Jana Jones is an Australian Egyptologist and research fellow in the department of ancient history at Macquarie University.[1] She is an expert on ancient Egyptian textiles. Her research provided evidence that mummification occurred in Prehistoric Egypt[2][3] through the analysis of Mummy S. 293 from the Museo Egizio in Turin, Italy.[4]
She completed a BA degree at Macquarie University, majoring in modern languages. Later, she received an MA and then PhD in Egyptology from Macquarie University.
