Kagoj (In Bengali: āĻāĻžāĻāĻ[1]) is a 2022 Bangladeshi mystery thriller film written and directed by Ali Zulfikar Zahedi. It stars Mamnun Hasan Emon and Airin Sultana.[2][3][4] For the first time in the history of the Bangladeshi film industry, a clay poster has been created of Kagoj movie and it is handed over to the government of Bangladesh's Bangladesh Film Archive Museum for permanent exhibition.[5][6] as a rare Clay Poster.
Plot summary
Kagoj is the story of a writer's philosophical journey. The insights and how his creation affects the environment. Emon Ahmed is a famous writer and a successful paper merchant. Despite being famous, the negative impact of his philosophical thoughts on the society is shown.[7]
After sixteen years, Emon Ahmed makes the first-ever decision to see Renu's father in the village, whose work he became inspired. He got to know Renu at her home. Renu began telling about her lovely memories from the past sixteen years. It is revealed throughout the conversation that Renu's father has passed away. They experience such sadness and grief that their sentiments of love blossom and eventually turn into a physical relationship. Emon Ahmed collapsed into Renu's bed, exhausted. When Renu woke up in the morning, she saw the corpse of Emon Ahmed lying dead on the bed next to her.[8][9]
Reception
Prior to its release, the film received many international awards, including the Western Canadian International Film Festival, the Tagore International Film Festival in Kolkata[10], the Druk International Film Festival-Bhutan, Kollywood International Film Festival, Panorama Film Festival in Bengaluru, and the Cult Critic Film Award of India.[11][12][13] Kagoj has also received an official selection from a number of international festivals in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Bolivia.[14]
Release
The film released in Bangladesh on 23 December 2022 and on 11 theaters[15][16][17] and later on OTT.[18][19]
