Allamaye Halina (Arabic: اللاماي هالينا, born 1 January 1967), also known as Allah-Maye Halina, is a Chadian diplomat and statesman who has been serving as prime minister since 23 May 2024.

Early life and education

Allamaye Halina was born on 1 January 1967 in Gounou Gaya, Mayo-Kebbi Est.[1][2]

He earned a bachelor's degree in history and geography from the University of N'Djamena in 1992. Subsequently, he continued his postgraduate education at the International Relations Institute of Cameroon and obtained a master's degree in international relations.[2]

Political career

Halina was the Chief of Protocol for Chadian President Idriss Déby from 2010 to 2023. In 2023, he was appointed as an Ambassador of Chad to China.[1][2]

On 23 May 2024, following the inauguration of President Mahamat Idriss Déby, Halina was designated as the Prime Minister of Chad.[1][3]

Upon his appointment as prime minister, several analysts described Halina as a technician without political ambition, who would not compete with President Mahamat Idriss Déby. Halina remained loyal to Idriss Déby for a long time, and Mahamat Idriss Déby describes him as his "big brother."[1]
