Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao (27 July 1917 – 26 March 2006) was an Indian film producer and screenwriter, known for his works in Telugu cinema.[1] He owned the film production houses named Annapurna Pictures Limited based in Chennai.[2] As a producer, he garnered four National Film Awards and three Nandi Awards. He was awarded the Raghupati Venkaiah award by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh for his contribution to Telugu cinema in 1993.His Alma Mater Noble College at Machilipatnam honored him by dedicating an entire block on the campus Dukkipati Madhusudana Rao Memorial Zoology Laboratory. Madhusudana Rao is known for his philanthropy. He was instrumental in moving the Telugu Film Industry to Hyderabad. As the Founder President of the Filmnagar Cooperative Housing Society, he helped many who worked for the industry like producers, directors, actors, musicians, lyricists, singers, etc. Even laborers like drivers, chefs and others own land for a nominal cost.
