The Academy of the Holy Cross is a Catholic college preparatory school sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Cross and founded in 1868.^[3] The academy is located on a 28-acre (110,000 m²) campus^{[citation needed]} in North Bethesda, Maryland (Kensington postal address),^[4]^[5] north of Washington, D.C.
