Joseph Charles Whitworth (born 29 February 2004) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Exeter City on loan from Crystal Palace.
Club career
Initially on the books of AFC Wimbledon, Whitworth moved to the youth academy of Crystal Palace in 2016.[2] In January 2023, he signed a contract extension with Palace, after working his way up through their youth teams.[3][4] He made his senior debut for Palace in a Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion on 15 March 2023.[5] In doing so, he became their youngest ever goalkeeper in the Premier League and 5th-youngest in all competitions.[2]
On 16 July 2024, Whitworth joined League One club Exeter City on a season-long loan deal.[6]
International career
Whitworth is a youth international for England, having played from the Under-15's up to the under-18's,[7] and was called up to the under-19's in September 2022.[8]
