An Ordinary Case (French: Le Fil, lit. 'The Thread') is a 2024 French legal drama film written, directed and starring Daniel Auteuil, as a lawyer hired to defend a client accused of his wife's murder.[1][2]
The film had its world premiere in the Special Screenings section at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on 21 May 2024.[3] It is scheduled to be theatrically released on 11 September 2024 by Zinc.
Plot
Jean Monier, a troubled lawyer, agrees to represent a client named Nicolas Milik. The latter has been accused of murdering his wife. While trying to prove his client's innocence, Monier finds himself more and more involved in the case.
