You would want to focus on sources that talk about Arthur's roles outside of being a councillor, as they have a much harder notability barrier to meet that he does not appear to Nosebagbear (talk) 00:09, 25 September 2022 (UTC)

Arthur Newall OBE (died May 2007) was a Conservative councillor in the London Borough of Enfield, who had in 1964 worked as an actor on Doctor Who as a Sensorite in The Sensorites, although also sometimes stated as being a Dalek operator. At the same time, he was a member of amateur group The Trent Players in Enfield.[1]

Arthur initially worked as a shipping office clerk for 20 years.[2][3] During the Second World War, he served in the British Army in the Italian campaign.

As a councillor, Newall served as chairman of the Conservative Trade Unionists.[4] He took part in the 1986 Enfield London Borough Council election, gaining 839 votes (16.7%) in the Ward results of Arnos,[5] as well as standard in the Ward results of Grange in the 1990 and 1994[6] elections (winning 2,483 and 1,740 votes respectively).[7][8] That latter year, Newall was appointed OBE for his service as chairman of the Conservative Trade Unionists (CTU) for political and public service.[9] In addition, he served as a member of the National Executive Committee of the Civil and Public Services Association (CPSA) and worked as a civilian for the Metropolitan Police. From 1996 to 1998, Newell acted as a director for Millfield Arts Trust.[10]
