Playhouse Video was a sub-label of CBS/Fox Video operating from 1983 to 1989. PLAYHOUSE was responsible for release of a number of made-for-television movies (such as "The Pride of Jesse Hallam" (1981-Tvm)), various theatrical films such as BIG JAKE (1971) with John Wayne and BREAKHEART PASS (1976) with Charles Bronson plus children and family-themed Fox films, in addition to other things CBS/Fox Video had rights to at the time. The company was shut down in 1989, and years later, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment made another kids and family aimed label called "Fox Family Features".
