Essay on editing Wikipedia
When addressing other editors and making requests, please say "please".
The word "please" is a magic word. If you want another editor to do something, there is a much better chance (though not guaranteed) that they will do it if you use the word "please".
"Please" indicates politeness, and turns a sentence from a demand to a polite question that something be done.
What if I don't say "please"?
Not saying "please" doesn't violate any Wikipedia guidelines or policies, hence it is simply a common courtesy.
