I'd like to do specific tasks in a way that is both automated and supervised (i.e. I review the edits before they are performed), and I think that AWB would be faster to configure than writing a bot task with the same purpose. I am planning on using AutoWikiBrowser to categorize pages gathered from related categories using keywords and data from infoboxes and to tag sourceless/one-source pages with the respectful maintenance tags. Wouldn't WP:HOTCAT be a better tool? Primefac (talk) 12:13, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not exactly sure if that's what HotCat does. I'll check it out sometime soon and withdraw my request if it fits my specifications. Capsulecap (talk • contribs) 22:29, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I do a lot of work with adding citations as part of WikiProject Unreferenced Articles, as well as clean-up of existing reference issues. I try to leave pages better than I found them by copyediting, removing promotional material/weasel words, adding pertinent links, etc. Additionally, I try to tag unreferenced articles appropriately, and remove the unreferenced tags from articles with sufficient citations, turn external links and notes into actually references when possible, and so on. I think AWB could be helpful with all of these things and hopefully help get through the unreferenced backlog more quickly. December 2009 has 19,000+ articles and I'm dreading it already. Thanks!
