Caspian race - subrace in structure Caucasian race. The Caspian subtype is considered as a branch of the Mediterranean race or Iranid race.

The Caspian race corresponds to the other ancient ethnic formation of the southeast, which is represented in the present Tats and Azerbaijanis whose ethnic type is subjected to essential linguist changes.[1][citation needed]

The phenotype is prevalent to the following ethnicities: Talyshs, Kurds, Turkmens and Kumuks.[2]

Characteristic distinctions are; medium and short stature, dark pigmentation, a thin face, slightly convex nose and almond-shaped dark eyes.
