The telecommunications in the Republic of Macedonia consist of an estimated 550,000 main telephone lines in use as of 2005, and an estimated 2,079,000 cellular phones in use as of 2008. There are an estimated 410,000 radios in use and there are 136 television broadcast stations as of 1997, with an estimated 1,890,000 televisions in use as of 2008. As of 2005, there are 20 Internet service providers (ISPs). There is 95% Wi-Fi coverage as of 2006.[1] As of a 2009 sample, there are 1,115,166 Internet users, or 52% of the population.[2] The country code for top-level domains is .mk.
