Yam language spoken in New Guinea
Not to be confused with Yei language (Bantu).
Yei (Yey, Jei, Je, Yei-Nan) is a Papuan language of New Guinea. The Upper and Lower Yey dialects are only mutually intelligible with difficulty.
Distribution
According to Evans (2018), Yei is spoken in the villages of Po, Torai, Bupul, Tanas, and Kwel in Elikobal District [id], in eastern Merauke Regency, Indonesia.[2]
