You are a remarkable editor in many ways. You would be a good administrator, in my opinion, and appear to be well qualified. You personify an administrator without tools and have gained my support already!

Maliner (talk) 15:10, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Maliner, thanks for the vote of confidence. With no GAs, FAs or DYNs a lot would disagree.... but maybe one day. Thanks again KylieTastic (talk) 18:40, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know when we should understand content creation is not actually that important. We see people maintaining those good and featured articles thereon. However, I am super in love with your passion about and on reviewing. You are not long from going, its more or less near. Have my extreme support @User:KylieTastic. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 21:08, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For what it's worth, 3 of the people at WP:RFX300 (myself, Tamzin, Floq) did not have a GA either. The thing people preach is about "content experience", of which, I think can easily be argued you have plenty of based on your significant work at AFC. Hey man im josh (talk) 21:13, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey man im josh, User:SafariScribe, sounds like you two could do with a bit of writing practice: pick something and bring it up to GA level! (Haha, pick this, Draft:Aroz Rai.) KylieTastic, a GA is not a requirement; I would support without it, though I would like to see that a candidate has actual experience writing actual articles. No one needs a rollbacker; we need admins who support content creators (I mean, that's one of the many things we need admins for), so valid experience should be good enough. Drmies (talk) 19:49, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not having a GA is risky, but is probably doable in your case, since I think the rest of your record is stellar. Or you could just write a GA real quick. It isn't too bad once you find a short article and a couple books. –Novem Linguae (talk) 21:28, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Novem Linguae: I think this is one of the very rare cases it's hard to argue against a user's content experience, eh? As we both know, KylieTastic handles things from the back of the queue fairly often and isn't afraid to tackle the tough drafts when no one else really does. The amount of work they've done for years is ridiculous. They have experience in so many areas of content and notability, and would have a demonstrated need from what I can see. Lots of reports at UAA, at AIV, extensive CSD log, and would have a use for G6 deleting redirects. Good history of coaching users up to go along with it. All of it's related to AFC, so really, their habits wouldn't need to change, they'd just be able to handle things directly, which, from my point of view, I don't doubt they'd be good at doing. The more I think about it, the more I honestly think it makes a lot of sense for Kylie to have the toolset. Hey man im josh (talk) 23:07, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think you have a much better shot than you give yourself credit for. You're someone who does backlog crushing well and with kindness... we need more people like that. If you ever want to consider it, feel free to reach out. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 04:12, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As for your lack of GAs/FAs... the way I see it, your area of expertise requires extensive knowledge that can be shown through content creation but that isn't the only way to show these skills. You also have created a good handful of articles, even if those shiny accolades aren't attached. Most of the people I've seen requiring content creation don't actually require GAs/FAs (see this essay for an example of what I mean). Evaluating drafts requires good policy knowledge and you have the temperament skills that I look for in an admin. Everything else can be learned on the job (I'm still figuring things out right now). I wouldn't reach out to someone about this if I didn't think they had a good chance of passing. I care too much about people to give them that sort of false hope or heartbreak on seeing things go south. I genuinely do think that you could run successfully in the near future, if you chose to do so. However, I understand if you don't want to and will respect whatever choice you make. I was incredibly hesitant about RfA for a really long time myself. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 04:24, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We have admin elections in October too, if you want to try out a new system and run at the same time as other people. –Novem Linguae (talk) 05:21, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You have an enviable experience! You work at NPP, AfC, CSD, AIV, UAA, etc, is very much valuable to me than a GA/FA. It takes a great deal of knowledge and experience to be able to handle what you're currently handling and that is what I value. Please consider the Wikipedia community and take the bold step, we need you :) Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:45, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
SafariScribe, Hey man im josh, Novem Linguae, Clovermoss, Vanderwaalforces and Maliner thank you so much for the positive feedback... I've been humbled for the second time this year. I've always considered my work in this small corner of the internet was generally unnoticed, apart from the odd outlier. My thoughts on adminship has always been that while I would be happy to help mop I would get a very mixed to negative response at RfA, especially from those that dislike Draft and AfC. I may have been convinced by you all to run if I wasn't dealing with several real-life issues at the moment. You have definitely changed my thought process from never to maybe. So again, thank you all. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 12:49, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously real life takes precedence. I wish you the best and hope that things get better (if they're the sort of issues that can get better). Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 19:42, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox Review

I think that you and User:MicrobiologyMarcus and I were in a race about an hour ago. And that is why what Wikipedia calls edit conflicts are known in computer science and electrical engineering as race conditions. Some sandboxes are worth reviewing, and some are not. Thank you

Thansk for helping edit the page for David Conlon Stockport County. I am knew to this. Thank you Countystat (talk) 20:53, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Countystat, happy to help. KylieTastic (talk) 21:10, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I struggled with links

you seem to be a wiki expert Countystat (talk) 21:22, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Countystat, I'm not sure what you mean for "This wouldn’t add" but I see your using the Wikipedia:VisualEditor which I don't use but I just a test and it worked. I just clicked the cite link in the top menu, and in the automatic tab just pasted the url. However, you should note that most blogs are not reliable sources so should not be used.
Feel free to explain what issue your having and I can try to help, but note for general editing issues like these asking at the Wikipedia:Teahouse is probably best as you would have had several experienced editors see the question and answer before I dragged myself out of bed :) Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:05, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I meant I could add the link after his name. I appreciate your reply and help. Thank you again
The page seemed to have been accepted but the redirected I’m not sure why or what this means thanks again Countystat (talk) 10:15, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Countystat I also do not why it was accepted then redirected, hopefully the reviewer will see the question now I pinged them on your page. If not go ask on their talk page. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:36, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Countystat (talk) 10:37, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have added more detail to the page. Any help editing, reviewing or getting it published would be greatly appreciated. Countystat (talk) 13:28, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Conlon (football coach) page

Hi, I am new to this but it seemed you accepted ands then redirect the above page I was trying to do (apologies as new to this) - 'Dave Conlon'.

I now can not find the draft and wanted to have this article as a stand alone page. I wanted the link from other pagers where it had the name (Dave Conlon) to take you to that specific page.

Please can you help and advise, thanks in advance Countystat (talk) 09:55, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Countystat is was not me that accepted it but I see you have already sorted it out at the help desk. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:03, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Countystat (talk) 11:34, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for clearing up my confusion with linking social media on the Black Peoples Union draft, sorry for reverting that! Charmanderpants (talk) 00:38, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Charmanderpants happy to help, there are a lot of guidelines and polices and it can be very confusing. Most organizations have lots of socials and in most cases they are more promotional than encyclopedic so that's my understanding why we have just the main website where interested readers can find the social links.
