Introduction

Hi, my name is Lee Hun-jin (Hangul: 리헌진; Hanja: 李憲眞) and I am a proud Wikipedian from the Philippines. You may also call me Jhemai/Jem (as my childhood friends in northwestern Metro Manila call me), Merrick (as my colleagues in church and some of my former co-workers in Quezon City call me) or Gabby (as I studied in Saint Gabriel Academy, and the name Gabriel is my frustration).

I've been working on different Wikipedia domains such as Tagalog Wikipedia, Kapampangan Wikipedia and Spanish Wikipedia (occasionally), aiming to add, expand and improve articles.

Linguistic Matters

Yes, I am a polyglot, and I am insatiably hungry in learning more languages. And I do believe that being a polyglot means more contributions here on Wikipedia. Wanna know more reasons? Here you go!

SPANISH (ESPAÑOL)

The Philippines used to be a Spanish overseas province for more than 3 centuries. And one of the legacy that the Spaniards left in this country is the existence of many Spanish words in Philippine languages. Believe it or not, José Rizal is my inspiration in being a polyglot. Besides, since I work in a call centre industry, I also use Spanish in assisting Spanish-speaking clients residing in the United States.

PORTUGUESE (PORTUGUÊS)

Being equipped with enough knowledge in Spanish (I must say, and I really ought to declare it), it was not that difficult for me to learn Portuguese on my own, as the two languages both emerged in Iberian peninsula. Plus, Portuguese is co-official with Chinese in Macau, our ancestral homeland.
