Taiyo Shimokawa (下川 太陽, Shimokawa Taiyō, born 7 March 2002) is a Japanese footballer currently playing as a defender for Kamatamare Sanuki.

Early life

Taiyo was born in Osaka. He played for Vitoria Matsubara and Cerezo Osaka in his youth.

Career

Taiyo made his debut for Cerezo Osaka II against Fujieda MYFC, coming on in the 86th minute for Masataka Nishimoto.[1] He scored his first goal for Cerezo against Kamatamare on the 6th of July 2019, scoring in the 4th minute.[2]

Taiyo made his debut for Kamatamare Sanuki against Gainare Tottori on the 19th of July 2020.[3]

International career

Taiyo has international caps at youth level for Japan.
