Galaxy in the constellation of Virgo
This article is about the barred spiral galaxy, Index Catalogue Dreyer object 1011. Not to be confused with IC 1101.
IC 1011 is a barred spiral galaxy[1] with apparent magnitude of 14.7,[3] and with a redshift of z=0.02564 (SIMBAD)[1] or 0.025703 (NASA),[3] yielding a distance of 100 to 120 megaparsecs.[3] Its light has taken 349.5 million years to travel to Earth. IC 1011's calculated age is approximately 12.95 billion years.[3] The IC designation comes from the Index Catalogue.
