How Can We Help?
The charts below show the way in which the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) represents Māori language pronunciations in Wikipedia articles. For a guide to adding IPA characters to Wikipedia articles, see Template:IPA and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Pronunciation § Entering IPA characters.

Notes
- ^ The voiceless bilabial fricative [ɸ] (similar to English wh as pronounced by those without the wine-whine merger) historically was the dominant realization of this sound. However, in contemporary Māori, the most common pronunciation is [f].
- ^ Stress falls on the first long vowel or on the first diphthong. Otherwise, it is on the first syllable but never earlier than the fourth-last vowel in a word, with both long vowels and diphthongs counting twice.
