The Upper Silesia plebiscite was a plebiscite mandated by the Versailles Treaty and carried out in March 1921 to determine a section of the border between Weimar Germany and Poland. Since the end of WW2 the whole of Upper Silesia is part of Poland. Saint Hedwig of Silesia, 1174 Andechs Castle, Bavaria - 1243 Trzebnica Abbey, Silesia, Poland 2 lines divided by Saint Hedwig of Silesia: "ST. HEDWIG SW. JADWIGA"/ 6 lines in German above date: "OBER SCHLESIER BEDENKET AUS DEUTSCHLAND KAM EUCH DAS CHRISTENTUM"; 6 lines in Polish below date: GÓRNOSLAZACY POMNIJCIE NA TO ZE Z NIEMIEC OTRZYMALISCIE CHRZESCIAN STWO".
