| Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | It will demonstrate exactly what a plant (particularly the main host, nicotiana tabacum) looks like when it is infected with tobacco rattle virus. Not only is this the only way for plant pathologists to "see" the viral infection without very expensive microscopes, but such symptoms are often necessary to indicate to growers that there is any infection in the first place. Words alone cannot convey the complex mottling that occurs in infected leaves and to see actual examples is to be prepared to better diagnose the disease. |
