Summary
DescriptionNorth Shore Trip - Fall 2012 - Split Rock Clockworks (8061058683).jpg |
Split Rock is unusual in that the clockworks that was originally used to rotate the giant lens is not only still in existence, but it has also been restored and continues to rotate the lens today. Clockworks are like a giant grandfather clock. A counterweight drops down the center of the tower and causes the clocksworks to spin, which causes the lens to turn. |
