This election map image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with
{{vector version available|new image name}} .
It is recommended to name the SVG file “New Hampshire Republican Presidential Primary Election Results by Town, 2012.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter. |
Summary
DescriptionNew Hampshire Republican Presidential Primary Election Results by Town, 2012.png |
English: A map of New Hampshire municipalities, color-coded to the results of the 2012 Republican Party New Hampshire presidential primaries, which were held on January 10, 2012. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney won a comfortable victory, after being defeated by the eventual Republican presidential nominee, Arizona senator John McCain, four years prior. Texas representative Ron Paul, who had also competed in 2008, placed second with an impressive share of delegates, mostly winning the vote in rural New Hampshire. However, Romney's support in urban areas such as Manchester and Concord ultimately secured the majority of delegates for Romney. Former Governor of Utah, Jon Huntsman, Jr., also carried a number of townships across the state. The winner of the Iowa caucuses, Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum, was not able to capatalize on his success in Iowa, eventually resulting in no gains for Santorum in New Hampshire.
