Summary
DescriptionMasiTreatySeal.jpg | The "Masi" or "Treaty Seal", the variant of the Great Seal of the United States used specifically on treaties for several decades in the 1800s, designed by Seraphim Masi and quite different than the design then (and now) in use. This is actually a skippet, a protective box for the actual wax seal, which is engraved with the same design. This skippet was made from a mold by Samuel Lewis, which had only tiny differences in its design from the actual Masi die. |
