Description Kensington Branch of the Philadelphia YWCA on the NRHP since March 9, 1990. At 174 West Allegheny Ave. in the Hugh neighborhood of North Philly. Built in 1911 the YWCA provided an inexpensive cafeteria, simple "hotel" rooms, day care, classes relevant to the local textile industry, and a swimming pool. Now being reconstructed as apartments or condos.
