Description
Miss Julia Jay Coon was a notable Toledo photographer, active around 1890. Miss Coon's work mostly consisted of portraits and scenes in and around Toledo, Ohio. She worked out of her parent's, Julius and Nancy Coon, home at 313 Floyd Street in the Old West end area of Toledo. Julia Jay Coon was born in Toledo on May 28, 1871. She married Edward Riddle on December 20, 1892. After her marriage, the U. S. Census reports state her occupation as "housewife" By the 1910 census, Julia and Edward had two children, Newlin J. Riddle and Courtney Riddle. Julia died December 2, 1940 and is buried in Toledo's Woodlawn Cemetery.
