Deutsch: 1 Kt. : unkolor. (35 x 22 cm). Koordinaten W 84°05'00"-W 43°42'00"/N 13°18'00"-S 12°39'00". Ohne Maßstab. Titelkartusche oben rechts. Ohne Kt.-Netz. Relief: Einzelberge. Altkarte. Der böhmische Jusuit Samuel Fritz (1654-1728) ging 1684 als Missionar ins Amazonasgebiet. Neben seiner Tätigkeit in der Indianermission (Reduktionen) wurde Fritz zu einem bedeutenden Erforscher Amazoniens. Auf einer zunächst handgezeichneten Karte des Amazonas zeichnete Fritz erstmals den Gesamtlauf des Stroms korrekt ein und erkannte den Marañón als Hauptquellstrom. Die Karte wurde seit 1707 in verschiedenen Versionen und Sprachen gedruckt. |
