Română: Turn clopotniță (Turnul Clopotnitei sau Turnul lui Stefan)

Intregind complexul monumentelor din Piatra Neamt, in partea de nord vest a Bisericii Domnesti (de pe platoul din centrul orasului), impresioneaza prin aspect Turnul Clopotnitei (cunoscut si ca Turnul lui Stefan), constructie masiva, avand o inaltime de 19 m si care impreuna cu Biserica Domneasca Sfantul Ioan constituie un impresionant document in piatra al istoriei acestei stravechi asezari. La fel ca si biserica, turnul se pastreaza foarte bine, fara modificari structurale care sa-l indeparteze de forma originala. Pisania incastrata in peretele estic atribuie constructia tot lui Stefan cel Mare, datand-o in ultimul in al secolului al XV-lea, adica in 1499, fapt care explica unele trasaturi comune cu turnul de la Manastirea Bistrita datorat aceluiasi voievod (manastirea este situata in satul cu acelasi nume din vecinatatea orasului, pe drumul ce duce spre Bicaz). Aspectul general al clopotnitei din Piatra Neamt este insa cu totul diferit, deoarece pana la inaltimea de 7 m are un plan patrat, care se modifica apoi, transformandu-se intr-un octogon cu laturile inegale. Zidurile sunt din piatra fasonata, iar contraforturile se ridica deasupra patratului de baza, pe laturile mai mici ale corpului octogonal.

Parterul nu comunica in interior cu celelalte nivele. O scara metalica exterioara asigura accesul la primul etaj, de unde se face legatura cu incaperile superioare pina la camera clopotelor si la foisorul construit ulterior pentru depistarea incendiilor din oras. In vremuri trecute, o buna perioada de timp turnul a fost utilizat pentru observarea unor posibile incendii in oras.
