The 1875 California gubernatorial election was held on September 7, 1875, to elect the governor of California.
Campaign
William Irwin, who became acting lieutenant governor in 1875 when Romualdo Pacheco succeeded to the governorship, secured the Democratic nomination later that year and became the next elected governor of California.[1]
