Information icon Hello, Recipesdishes. This is your user talk page; the purpose of this page is notification and communication with other Wikipedia editors. Thank you for notifying me. I will take the necessary steps to move my article to the appropriate location. Recipesdishes (talk) 18:33, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:The Ultimate Guide to White Chocolate, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:19, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

CulinaryExplorer101 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)

Request reason:

I acknowledge the reasons for my account's block and understand that my previous contributions were perceived as promotional, which was not my intention. I disclose that I have not received any form of compensation for my contributions to Wikipedia. Moving forward, I intend to contribute constructively to topics related to improving existing articles for clarity and accuracy, adding citations from reliable sources, and creating new entries on notable subjects within this domain that are currently not covered. I have chosen the new username "CulinaryExplorer101" as it does not represent any business or organization and is in line with Wikipedia's username policy. Recipesdishes (talk) 20:44, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You had said "Could we please have another review of the revised submission?" It doesn't seem like "we" in that context would refer to the community, Furthermore, in your deleted draft, you wrote "check out our Cool Whip Cookies Recipe" and "This introduction starts our journey" and other similar text which most definitely does not refer to the community, so I am having difficulty believing that you have no association with this website. Your draft was deeply promotional, talking up white chocolate to readers and offering recipes as well as spamming websites to get further recipes. It concerns me greatly that you say you didn't intend to be promotional given how much you were, so whether you are affiliated with the website or not, I see no grounds to remove the block at this time. 331dot (talk) 13:44, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You used "we" in one of your posts, who is "we"? Are you employed by the Recipesdishes website? 331dot (talk) 00:18, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear 331dot,
Thank you for reaching out. I would like to clarify that I am not employed by or affiliated with the "Recipesdishes" website in any capacity. When I used the term "we," I was referring to the Wikipedia community as a whole and my intention to be a part of the collaborative effort to improve the encyclopedia. I understand the importance of Wikipedia's neutrality policy and conflict of interest guidelines, and I assure you that my contributions will strictly adhere to these standards going forward.
I apologize for any confusion my previous messages may have caused and appreciate the opportunity to address this concern. I am committed to being a constructive member of the Wikipedia community and hope to have the chance to contribute positively under my new username, "CulinaryExplorer101".
Sincerely,
recipesdishes Recipesdishes (talk) 12:34, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Now, to be honest, I hereby want to mention that I am the owner of the website Recipesdishes. Since I am new on Wikipedia, I was eagerly looking forward to contributing some of the information that I feel could be the need of the hour within the community. Specifically, I expected that elaborative details regarding white chocolate would make the relevant Wikipedia article be more enriched. I was very excited, and in my over-enthusiasm, I did something utterly stupid. I literally took content straight from my site and pasted it right into the Wikipedia article. I made sure that I removed any direct URL to my site in order to not make it self-promotional, but it is only now that I realize that the approach was misplaced and not in sync with Wikipedia's content policies, especially in terms of copyright.
I respect this block and understand the reasons behind it, and I know the commitment from the community in the purity of Wikipedia. In case you think that it will be in the interests of the encyclopedia to unblock me, be assured that I understand the rules and will not go against them in my editing. However, if you decide to maintain the block, I respect your commitment to upholding Wikipedia's standards. Recipesdishes (talk) 14:08, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You may make a new unblock request for someone else to review, but your lies to us are a big hurdle to overcome on a website that is based on assuming good faith, as it is now difficult to trust you and that is hard to get back. It's likely that your only pathway forward is the standard offer, but at a minimum you won't be unblocked to write about cooking/recipes(we don't really offer cooking tips anyway). If you want to edit about other topics, like government officials, or history or science, please tell what in your request. 331dot (talk) 16:00, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
