Welcome to Lord Laitinen's talk page! Please be respectful and descriptive while leaving me a message, and make sure you sign with four of these symbols (~). Disrespect, disregard, and any kind of vandalism or rudeness is prohibited by me, and any messages containing these things will be removed promptly. Please leave your message in the first empty entry you see. If you wish to criticize an edit or change of mine, please do so briefly, in a message one paragraph or shorter!

Entry 2

Hi Lord Laitinen, thanks for your welcoming message, I don't mean to do major edits or create new articles, I'm just a linguist (a professional translator) and sometimes feel like correcting grammar, spelling and general style when I read rather badly redacted articles in my working languages (French, English, Spanish) but that's about it! Cheers, Sophie Sophie.looky (talk) 01:34, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Entry 3

Hello. I have removed the image you added to the article since we're interested in having pictures of cars in the article, not pictures where people are a prominent part of it. Thank you. Thomas.W talk 16:51, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Entry 4

The image in question provides no unique value to the entry, is of low quality due to the vehicle being obscured by a person in the shot, and does not even feature the subject matter (Jaguar XF Sportbrake). I understand you may be protective of the said image as it appears to be one of your own, but I believe that it does not belong in the entry. Entry 5

Hello. I saw your attempt to move Kenosha, Wisconsin to the redirect Kenosha by moving the latter page to Kenosha, W. I think you might be aware of this by now, but just to note again, moving a page to a different name does not delete the original page; rather, it usually creates a 'redirect from move' in the original title. I've tagged Kenosha for WP:G6 under uncontroversial moves to request the move that you have attempted, which you should do when moves are uncontroversial. If moves are controversial, please use WP:RM to allow for discussions. KJ Discuss? 23:18, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Profiterole

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on Profiterole. But you might want to reconsider the wording of your edit comment, "Don't EVER erase my pictures from an article without giving a reason.", which seems inconsistent with WP policies WP:OWN and WP:CIVIL. --Macrakis (talk) 19:21, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

A bit of explanation may help. The style guide on naming U.S. settlements is WP:USPLACE. Since in most things, we follow what the sources say, and the single biggest source for most anything is newspapers, it was decided long ago that settlements will be named "city, state" with 20 exceptions that are listed in the AP Stylebook, the bible if you will of newspaper style and layout. They are listed in footnote #2 in the above mentioned guideline. Milwaukee is on the list; Kenosha, and almost everyplace else, is not. Hope that helps you understand. I have unreviewed a page you curated

Thanks for reviewing Alex merkin, Lord Laitinen.

Unfortunately Tek022 has just gone over this page again and unreviewed it. Their note is:

This needs a bit more looking into, especially in regards to notability.

Rollback

I think you could be a good rollbacker, but whoever told you to get "a few dozen" reverts to prove yourself ready gave you bad advice. It really takes a lot more experience than that. I would be willing to sign you up as a rollbacker given enough time, and I would consider doing it even though you were denied at the RFPP page if you understand that you really have to be near perfect and if you make a mistake you probably won't get rollback access back for a long time, if ever. Soap— 03:23, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Soap: It has been more than six months since you left me this message. Since that time, I have reverted countless disruptive edits, test edits, and edits that constituted vandalism. Please feel free to look over my history, and let me know if you are ready to grant me the permission. Thanks a bunch! Lord Laitinen (talk) 10:08, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but Im not seeing it. In the last six months I only see ten reverts, and only about sixty edits in total in mainspace. Unless youve been editing as an IP or on another account in the meantime. I still stand by what I said, but this is in no way what I was thinking of when I said "a lot more experience". I'm glad to see you still editing nonetheless. CSD

Good morning, I have tried to find the button referred to: If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". and failed. Does that mean the Vasily Bunelik page is no longer earmarked for deletion? Please advise. Bunelik (talk) 06:56, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) @Bunelik: It doesn't matter now. The deletion tag has been removed by User:Staszek Lem (i.e. the article is currently not considered for deletion). Zhaofeng Li [talk... contribs...] 10:17, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Lord Laitinen, I've noticed your manually changing the This page was last edited by section on your user page, I'm not positive (I've never used this template and the documentation doesn't exactly say it does) but I think this template {{last edited by}} will change that for you after every edit, no matter who makes the edit. Just thought it might be helpful. Cheers, Mlpearc (open channel) 21:47, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have tagged all your images that did not appear constructive or usable in articles for deletion as with the {{db-f10}}. I have left the ones that are used and the german shepherd one. I would advise you to read WP:NOTMYSPACE especially point 2. The Db-f10 CSD criteria sets this out as well. If you have any problems, please contact me. SVGs

Please explain why you wasted your time and mine converting eleven SVG and PNG files into JPGs. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:33, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@RHaworth: I thought that the files would be of use to Wikipedia, as did Koavf when I asked his advice on the matter before uploading them. I'm sorry if I wasted your time; it was never my intention to waste anybody's.

SS2015

Ok, ok im done with that page.

@ClassicOnAStick: That's very good to know. I wish you good luck in your Wikipedian future, and if you ever need help distinguishing between what is okay and not okay to add or cite as a source, simply ask. Lord Laitinen (talk) 03:39, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bootybae

I wasn't disruptive editing anything. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bootybae (talk • contribs) 15:31, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Bootybae: You seemed to deliberately change the letter t in "Undertaker" to a letter b, resulting in a visible redlink. Since you made no other edits to the page, it is considered disruptive. Be more careful next time, if this was, indeed, an accident. Lord Laitinen (talk) 18:55, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for September 14

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kenosha, Wisconsin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Church of God (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
