Nonsense of Windows 2007

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Windows 2007, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Windows 2007 provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Windows 2007, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. A tag has been placed on ABME, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Move request

Hi, Bun39. I removed your request at Wikipedia:Requested moves, because it's not properly formed. If you want to propose a move, just follow the procedure here, including creating a space on the talk page of the article in question for discussion to take place. If you need help, or have any questions, feel free to ask me. Regards, Parsecboy (talk) 15:34, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I noticed that a page you created, Weekend Marketplace, had only one source, another Wikipedia article. I removed it, as this is not allowed. The article you attempted to cite may have some appropriate sources, or you may be able to find some using this Google search. Thank you anyway for making an effort to improve the encyclopedia.--Unscented (talk) 18:27, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Jetix (ABC Family)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Jetix (ABC Family), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Already exists at Jetix.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.  GARDEN  15:14, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If I get enough L votes to leave, you can delete the article forever. But keep it until the vote is over.

A tag has been placed on Bun39 Retirement or Administrator Vote, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Threats of retirement will not work. We elect administrators who are nice, level headed and don't vandalize when they don't get their way. Blocked again

Look, I don't know what you're trying to pull, but I've blocked you again for disruption. Don't mess with article space when you're crying out for attention. I've also reviewed a lot of your other edits and they're pretty much uniformly bad. For instance: [1] [2] [3] etc. What are you doing? --Cyde Weys 19:20, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ultimatums

In general, people don't respond well to ultimatums, especially if they are on the clock.

If you really want to be an administrator, I recommend you look at previous successful and unsuccessful requests for adminship to get an idea of what people look for in an admin, then start editing accordingly.

People's criteria vary, but my general criteria include:

  • at least 1 year of civil editing, 6 months of excellent editing may substitute
  • at least several thousand edits
  • average at least 100 edits a month for the past 6 months, with most of those months being well over 100. This shows continuing interest.
  • constructive participation over a wide part of the project including various article topics "name spaces" such as Template:, Wikipedia:, Portal:, etc. and participation in talk page. Users specializing in one article topic or who do not edit across many name spaces will not be dismissed out of hand, but they will be asked questions along the lines of "why do you need the tools?" "how do we know you won't make too many honest mistakes?" and "will you promise not to use the tools inappropriately to solve editorial disputes in your area of interest, and do you even know what 'inappropriately means?"
  • a reasonable, broad knowledge of policies and guidelines.
  • if you want the tools for something in particular, your edits the past few months should demonstrate that interest and demonstrate a better-than-reasonable knowledge of the relevant policies and guidelines.

This list isn't all-inclusive, and it is negotiable. A super-stellar editor who demonstrates superb policy knowledge and experience in admin-ish areas but who only has 900 edits in the last 7 months and 599 in the last 6 could still get my support. On the other hand, someone who met all of these criteria but who had a recent history of being antagonistic would likely not.

With two recent blocks, I'm very inclined to say "go forth, be a productive editor, and after you think your editing history is likely to result in a successful RFA, ask again." However, unless you edit more than you have been, you'll have a hard time getting my support before this time next year. Here's a challenge for you: Make a fool out of me. Prove to the world that you can be the best editor Wikipedia has ever seen. Get promoted to admin in 4 months. Become a bureaucrat in 2012. Get elected to the arbitration committee the next year. I would love for that to happen. Even if that doesn't happen, make me eat crow by editing well enough that you get the administrator bit this year rather than next. That is a goal well within your reach. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 00:39, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen better, I just don't remember exactly where. I try to follow the examples set by the good editors that came before me, in the hopes future editors will see my examples and do better than me. I've gone through my larval stage and came out the better for it, so can Bun39. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 01:08, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ADMINISTRATOR

-( I AM GOING TO SEMI-PROTECT MY PAGE FOR 2009 AND EARLY-2010. UNTIL I CAN BE AN ADMINISTRATOR, THE PAGE WILL BE SEMI-PROTECTED.
Hi Bun, Since there has been no IP vandalism on this page, or in fact any IP edits why would you want an admin to semi-Protect it for you? Talk pages exist for editors to communicate with each other, it would be very odd to semiprotect one, especially if the editor was active and had ambitions to become an admin in a year or so.
