I am a big [[Grammar|grammarian]] and am obsessed with punctuation, capitalization, and other bits of the English language that are slowly being lost in today's world. In English class I will always argue against the teacher about grammatically correct sentences with mere shreds of logic.

===Foreign Languages===

I have a dream to be a [[Spain|Spanish]] teacher when I graduate from college. I have always had a desire for languages and I admire anybody who puts his or her heart into learning more than three or four. It is an excellent skill to possess. Another of my passions is for teaching, and I have a skill for it, so I think combining these two abilities would be ideal. My goal is to teach English in Spain while in my twenties, and then return to the [[United States]] to teach Spanish in a school such as the one I currently attend, [[Horace Mann School (New York City)|Horace Mann School]].

==Music==

Brought up into a musical family, I am a skilled pianist for my age, and [[Sight reading|sightread]] excellently. I am a [[tenor]] and can [[Sight reading|sightsing]] fairly well. I play percussion in a wind ensemble and orchestra over the summer.

==Computers==

I am a huge [[Apple Computer]] fan and user. I have tried to "get along with" [[Microsoft Windows]], and I can't handle them. They're too bizarre, the keyboard is spaced oddly, and what's up with this "right-click" thingamabobber? I also hate when directions online are geared specifically to Windows, where the writers just naturally assume no Mac users are going to come and read them. What's up with that?

I have come along way with [[Harry Potter]]. I was given the [[Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone|first book]] as a birthday present and said there and then that I was not interested in becoming part of this "fad." Little did I know that my views would slowly change. I trudged myself along in the series, and finally, while taking a long road trip and having little to do in the back seat, on [[July 26]], [[2003]], I bought ''[[Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix]]'' just five days after it was released. I got hooked. It was probably the character of [[Dolores Umbridge]] that made me love this book so much. She was just somebody who you ''wanted'' to despise, and it is for this reason that this book is my favorite of the series to date, particularly all scenes when Umbridge interacts with Dumbledore, McGonagall, or Fred and George.

But my intensity for the series grew, and in [[September]] [[2004]] I stepped up my HP knowledge when my science teacher expressed herself as an enormous fan. I liked her a lot, so I wanted to impress her and acknowledge my liking for the series as well. Then, on [[April 17]], [[2005]], I joined the [[Harry Potter Lexicon]] Forum and my fandom knowledge grew. As it did, my liking for the series was no longer a reason to impress my science teacher – it became a true penchant. Now I love Harry. [[J. K. Rowling]] is such an incredible woman, and I admire and respect her with the deepest devotion in my heart.
