Sunjeev Kour Birdi (aka Sonia Birdi) is a Kenyan politician who serves as a nominated member of the Kenyan Parliament.[1]

Her Works

Hon. Sonia Birdi (as she is popularly called) has travelled the world as an MP and participated in various official functions. She was at the Women In Parliaments Global Forum in Brussels and stood up with FEMNET (African Women’s Communication and Development Network) for the walk for the campaign #BringBackOurGirls in the Nigerian school girls kidnapping incident.

She also attended the inauguration ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and had the opportunity to discuss Kenya-India relations with the BJP.

In June 2014, she attended an environment talk in the UAE with her fellow committee members of the Environment Parliament Committee to achieve a greener Kenya.

Hon. Sonia Birdi passed a motion in Parliament, for the Government to build multi-dams countrywide to create a balanced eco-system and reduce environmental degradation. In her recent work, she raised a statement on the road safety measures to the Transport Safety Authority to take stricter measures on public transport safety.
