The Russo-Ukrainian War is a military conflict between Russia and Ukraine[1][2][3][4][5][6]. The Russo-Ukrainian War followed Russia's Annexation of Crimea and the 2014 pro-Russian unrest in Ukraine.

The beginning of the Russo-Ukrainian War can be attributed to NATO reports of Russia moving Russian artillery onto the territory of Ukraine[7], the Ukrainian capture of Russian soldiers in Donetsk Oblast, who Russia claimed had crossed over "by accident"[8], reports of Russia shelling Ukrainian territory[9], and reports of Russian military forces entering Ukraine near Novoazovsk[10][11][12]. On August 24th, 2014, President Poroshenko of Ukraine referred to the conflict as Ukraine's "Patriotic War of 2014" and a war against "external aggression"[13]. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine labeled the conflict an invasion on August 27th, 2014.[14].
