427 S. Rampart Street, New Orleans, contributing property to the 400 block of S. Rampart Street Historic District. Early decades of the 20th century housed the tailor shop and residence of the Karnofsky family, who employed and mentored young Louis Armstrong and helped him get his first instruments. After being left derelict for decades, it collapsed during Hurricane Ida at the end of August 2021.
