Line 13 of the Chengdu Metro (Chinese: 成都地铁13号线) is a metro line in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The first phase of the line is currently under construction and is entirely underground.

History

  • On 11 November 2019, construction on line 13 began.[2]
  • On 16 December 2022, Line 13 Phase 1 finished Sanguantang to Jiuyanqiao Section tunnel construction, marking the success of the longest underwater/river tunnel work in Chengdu Metro history.[3]
  • On 13 January 2023, 15 stations finished structural construction and tunnel finished 62%, railroad finished 10% [4]
  • On 30 March 2023, Line 13 Jiuyanqiao~Xinnanmen section's tunnel boring machine finished construction.[5]
  • On 20 September 2023, Line 13's first train is finished. This is Chengdu's second metro line to use driverless automatic trains.[6]

Incidents

  • In June 2024 a part of Line 13 collapsed, destroying the road above.[7]
