Common Texas Grackle

Summary

Description
English: Great-tailed Grackle in molt, with the usually long tail feathers just regrowing so still short. A medium-sized bird larger than other blackbirds found in Texas. The combination of uniformly blue-glossed all-black plumage (no contrast between head and back), yellow eye, and long tail, separates Great-tailed Grackle males from others of its family in Texas. This bird was in the Clear Lake area of Houston.
