Do you remember User:GrahamBould?

Hello Whpq,

You may be interested in this post at WP:AN, and this related discussion at WP:CCI, involving edits by User:GrahamBould. A lot of their problematic edits from 2006-2009 have been dealt with back then, by you and other volunteers at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Gastropods/Subpage for organizing CopyVio Cleanup, but some that were missed have now resurfaced. One article had most of its revision history deleted yesterday (1251 revisions spanning 18 years), and there are about 1700 articles that may be affected. As one of the few editors who are still active out of those who were involved in the original cleanup operation, maybe you can remember what happened back then, and have ideas how to best proceed. Thank you! Renerpho (talk) 06:44, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've replied at the topic you started at WP:AN. -- Whpq (talk) 17:15, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

File:Rafah displacement camp airstrike.webp

I noticed you deleted File:Rafah displacement camp airstrike.webp with the rationale "Simply captioning an image fails to be transformative as noted in the discussion." But the image was more than captioned. The article text itself makes commentary on the image. WP:F7 for example says "where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary."VR (Please ping on reply) 03:17, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you point out the text? -- Whpq (talk) 03:40, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry!

I'm here to apologize for accidentally reverting a LTA move into a wrong target. I mistook the revert vandalism was all changing something like Example clan -> Example (clan) and didn't notice some were named like Example Family. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 12:41, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. That was an easy mistake because of the pattern of moves. -- Whpq (talk) 13:17, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to import the file to Commons, but undeleting the prior revision is required before doing so. George Ho (talk) 19:19, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done. -- Whpq (talk) 19:40, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of movie articles

Hello, I really appreciate that you didn’t allow my article ‘Dil (1991)’ get deleted. The user ‘Saqib’ is always deleting my articles when they are notable. I have a passion for Pakistani cinema and Hindi cinema. I would really like you to approve of my future articles and allow them on the main space without them being taken down constantly. Thank you for your help and support!!! Saqib lollywood (talk) 16:22, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

i don't normally do AFC reviews. The best way to ensure acceptance is to have good quality reliable sources. -- Whpq (talk) 17:59, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free images of still living persons

Hi Whpq. Are you using a script or bot to search for possible violations of FREER? I used to use ToolForge page created by someone long ago which listed such images in tabular form, but that page stopped working a few months back. Now, I usually only come across some images through random clicking or scrooling through one of the subcategories of Category:All non-free media. It's not a very efficient approach, so I'm wondering if there's a better way. Perhaps a category page for recently updated non-free images? You also seem to be working in this area so thought you might've figured out a better approach. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:03, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing automated. I just look at recent uploads and pick out images that look like they might potentially be a problem. -- Whpq (talk) 11:10, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Is there a particular category page for recent uploads or a category page for date uploaded? -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:21, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I just use special:newfiles. -- Whpq (talk) 11:22, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't know about that link. Thanks for that. -- Marchjuly (talk) 18:19, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
