Opay also known as Opay Digital Services Limited is a Fintech company dominating the African market, operated in Nigeria, Egypt, and Pakistan.[1][2][3]

History

Nigeria

Opay was formerly known in Nigeria as Paycom Nigeria limited, registered with the CBN, since (9 December 2013). The financial company was established in Nigeria 2018, licensed from the Central Bank of Nigeria and insured by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.[4] In March 2021, the fintech company Managing VP Joshua Yau, for Opay Nigeria, said to have recorded over $2 billion around December 2022.[5] In November 2021,[6] Olu Akanmu, Formal FCMB director, was appointed as the co-CEO of Opay Nigeria and later resign on the 31 of July 2023.[7]

Egypt

In April 2022, Mahmoud Khade, Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at OPay Egypt, announces the company approval from Central Bank of Egypt to issue Opay Egypt prepaid cards.[8]

Pakistan

In September 2022, Ali Mubashar Kazmi was the president of the Opay Pakistan.[9][10][11]
