Crows Nest railway station is an underground rapid transit station currently under construction in Crows Nest. It is being built as part of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project and will form part of the extension of the Metro North West Line. It was originally planned to open on 4 August 2024[1][2], but was later postponed due safety approval issues.[3] The station will be near the existing St Leonards station on the North Shore line.

Access is provided via Clarke Street and the Pacific Highway.[4] The station is located 25 metres underground.[5] Crows Nest railway station was constructed by AW Edwards.[5] The design includes nine escalators and five elevators.[4]

History

In 2021, plans were released for three buildings of up to 21, 17 and nine storeys to be built above the station.[6] The approved buildings are slightly smaller in scale than the initial proposal, in response to residents' concerns about overdevelopment.[6]

The station is planned to open on 4 August 2024.[7][8]
